On stage

What a Kalpa Arts recital looks like.

Recitals are introduced gradually. Beginners take part in in-classroom showings before a small parent-only recital; technique-stage students perform short items in school showcases; performance-stage students lead full-length items including Varnam, Padam, and Tillana at public stages.

Stage one

Classroom showings

Short, low-stakes showings for parents and family - the first taste of performing without the pressure of a stage.

Stage two

School showcases

Curated annual showcases bringing together students from the technique programme - group items and short solos with full costume.

Stage three

Public stage & arangetram

Senior performance students take part in selected public recitals; the few who reach arangetram are guided through every step of the preparation.
